Same recipe, another shape!

Isn't it strange, how something can taste different if you change the shape of it? I made these cute little lime tarts from the original 'Lime Pie' recipe, this time without the whipped cashew cream and lime.

This is the greatness of raw desserts; you can remake, recycle, reinvent and upgrade  everything! As you can't really go wrong in making raw desserts, i.e. if you happened to add a little too much of one ingredient, than you only need to add a little more of another, you practice problem solving, something we greatly lack in the modern society. Instead, we are driven by the black-and-white thinking that if something isn't perfect, it must be bad: the toxics of the left brain, that really gets us nowhere..

When you start doing your first raw desserts, you notice one thing - that you have to use the creative side of your brain (the right brain). In our western society, this is an unusual mental stimulation, as we most of the time are forced to place our focus in the left brain. Sadly. The more stimulation of the right brain we get, omg, the better world we create! If you could integrate this new way of problem solving into all the different areas of your life, of your world, you would upgrade all of these areas into a much more human-friendly alternative for you.

Also, when you work with high vibrant, high potent ingredients as raw dessert recipes calls for, this hands-on contact with these ingredients, are a great grounder and a link to your natural instincts. I've done this for so long now, that I hardly remember any more, what it's like to bake with dead food.
But, imagine what it's would be like baking with ready-made mixes, full of additives, trans fats, white flour and refined sugars. Once you convert to the raw dessert world, it's a no turning back to the dead baking. Why would you want to spend your time, money, and love on making unhealthy desserts any way? If you need decadency, (I sure do), than there's no need to fear you'll miss out on it with the raw desserts.

So, back to the remaking and reusing a recipe or ingredients that you have in your kitchen, fruits that are in season, or just a plain craving for a certain taste or texture.. I remade a Lime Pie classic from my recipe ebook into cute little tarts. Same crust, same filling, only smaller spring pans. These are so great to take with you if you're traveling or going for a picnic. The smaller size also makes it fun for kids to eat, and you can spice them up with more super foods to enhance the nutrition even more.

This Lime Pie, has Irish moss in it, that needs some preparation, but you can use any raw pie recipe and turn it into tarts. Here's some inspiration.

Until next time,
Take care and eat lots of raw desserts

Tjusiga körsbär! Du har inte funderat på att sätta en sökruta på din fina blogg? Vore praktiskt att kunna söka på olika ämnen för att se vad du har skrivit om dem.
